Ixora in Ceramic Pot
Ixora is a low-growing tropical plant. It has glossy evergreen leaves that are oval-shaped and a year-round flowering season makes an Ixora plant well worth growing. The large flower clusters come in pink, and it’s relative to the coffee plant, both are in the Rubiaceae family. Flowers are most prolific in summer.
How To Care
Light: Ixora is a sun-loving plant, blooms best and grows more densely with direct sun for most of the day
Water:Â Keep the soil moist, water the plant regularly with a deep soaking
Fertilizer:Â If your plant’s leaves look yellowish, then apply standard liquid fertilizer which has high nitrogen every two weeks during the active growth period. Ixora prefers slightly acidic soil.
Temperature: Above 60°F is preferred even in winter.
Potting:Â plant through stem cuttings which can be rooted with the help of a rooting hormone. Use a potting mixture of peat moss and then move the plants into pots one size larger each spring
Pruning:Â Â Remove any branches that have been damaged by cold temperatures or that grow in out-of-the-way places to reduce the size of the plant
