Orange trees are the member of Rutaceae family, also known as the Citrus aurantium. Valued for their fragrant white flowers in the spring, and providing shade and nutritious edible fruit in late fall and winter.
How To Care
Light: They do best with at least 5 to 6 hours a day of direct sunlight.
Water: Newly planted trees need to be watered once or twice a week to keep the soil moist but not wet. Established trees need water every week or two,
Fertilizer: need light fertilizing with a high nitrogen fertilizer during the first year, then feed once a week with a liquid citrus fertilizer.
Temperature: the ideal the maximum temperature is 86° F (30° C) with a minimum temperature of 46° F (8° C).
Potting: The best time for potting is in the spring.
Pruning:Â Citrus trees need pruning only In the spring and summer, to remove dead branches and limbs.
